Snug

It's cold in PEI. -20C last night, which makes it about as cold as it gets here. The taps are left dripping a bit, and the bales of straw are doing the trick. The water's still on. And this means I get to soak in my claw foot tub in the bath house, a quick run in bath robe and slippers through the snowbanks from the cabin. It's worth the exposure. Jasper and I are nestled in.

Are you using the straw bales as insulation on the incoming water line? I was trying to figure out how to squeeze out some additional cottage time on the shoulder seasons, but with the cottage sitting on piers and the water line running on the top of the ground that is a limiting factor. If that works I may make that a future project.

Straw bales do the trick! It was -20C and the pipes kept running. And the cabin is on posts. It's possible to extend the season, but you have to be able to sleep through the sound of dripping faucets.
